About Cheryl DeLorey, LMHC

Cheryl Delorey, Licensed Mental Health and Relational Therapist

Relationships are about presence, not perfection.

I believe that building strong, connected relationships requires effort, vulnerability, and sometimes a little grit. Life transitions, communication breakdowns, and lingering resentment can feel like insurmountable obstacles, but with the right approach, even the steepest challenges can be overcome.

My work focuses on helping couples facing challenges with transition and communication, exploring consensual non-monogamy, and healing from the effects of sexual trauma. These diverse experiences have shown me that even the most complicated dynamics can shift when both partners are committed to growth.

Therapy is Practical, Emotional, and Honest.

In our sessions, expect me to show up authentically. I’m not afraid to ask the hard questions, offer honest feedback, or occasionally use humor to lighten the load. Therapy isn’t about being stuck in theory—it’s about moving forward, one deliberate step at a time.

Clients describe me as approachable and refreshingly real.

Whether we’re navigating tough conversations or celebrating small wins, my goal is to create a space where both partners feel seen, supported, and challenged in ways that lead to meaningful change.

Love is a journey—and that’s what makes it worth fighting for.

Outside of therapy, I’ve been on my own relationship journey for more than 20 years. I know firsthand how relationships evolve over time, from carefree beginnings to the complex balancing act of careers, family, and personal growth. When I’m not with clients, I’m likely hiking, paddleboarding, or spending time with my dog Annie, who keeps me grounded and smiling.

Relationships are intricate, and so are the people in them.
